02: Pre-Start Portrait
Addison and I are hanging out in the vast AT&T stadium parking lot. Sorry about the fuzzy pics (and there will be more). It was far darker than it appears here.
I'm straddling my 1992 all-carbon Kestrel. It was a top-notch bike in it's day and is still "relevant" according to the all-knowing Matt from Bicycle-Heaven...bastard :-)
Addison is on his Nishiki/Frankenstein bike. The frame is about all that's left of the original bike. He's got upgrades to his seat, front fork, front brakes, stem, wheel set, seat post, bearings, cycling computer, and probably more, but it's already a nightmare of boredom unless you're Addison. All of this is due to the vast and unexpected generosity of Matt from Bycycle-Heaven...demigod.
