Here's Trixie, a 1½-year-old fox terrier mix caught in mid-flight.

And here is one of the first pics of the short-lived baby beagle Maggie.

She did a lot of sleeping. Now we know it wasn't just puppy sleep, but something much more serious.

One of the last pics of Maggie. You can see her IV in her front paw and her sad hurting expression. Turned out, she was cursed with distemper. By the end, she was suffering siezures as frequently as 10 minutes apart. She was put to sleep as quickly as possible to save her from suffering more.

For the shot time they were together, Maggie and Trixie got along very well. It did seeme Trixie knew something was not quite right with Maggie.

But life goes on. Trixie is still with us. She's a real sweetie.
