Dutch Auction Sales deals with the auction of fine art, jewelry, furniture and more primarily from Scandinavia. They have been the one of the largest antique and used furniture auction companies in their field since first opening in 1985. They hold year-round auctions, around 25 per year.
The client was looking for a website design that would communicate not only the fact they are an auction company, but also that they are high-end, specialty and international. I designed with rich "European" cullinary colors and key images of the type of merchandise they handle. I located and modified an antique map of Holland from the 18th century as a watermark for the background. At the company's request, I integrated the American and Dutch flags in the lower left.
