Thomas McAuley's Previous Work
He began his professional career in Nashville at Ericson Marketing, the premier marketing company in Tennessee. He performed grunt print work for clients including Opryland Hotel, Opryland Themepark, Opryland Convention Center and all the rest of Opryland’s properties. Other frequent clients included Purity Dairies, Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, Shoney’s and all the various Shoney’s-owned restaurants: Pargo’s; Fifth Quarter; and Barbwire’s. He eventually ended his stint with Ericson as Associate Art Director.
Leaving Ericson, he freelanced his print design – the first breaths of mcauleydesign. It was at the tail end of his short-lived but very educational freelance time that he landed in the web world, fibbing to group of young entrepreneurs founding a new company that he indeed did have web design experience. After a semi-successful first site, he realized he needed on the job training if he were going to pursue web design as a money-making venture. He eventually landed at Digital Dog Design, a strange design outfit out of downtown Nashville more known for staff changes than lasting design. Thomas bravely lasted just short of a year before he was staff changed out for greener pastures.
After the nighmare of Digital Dog Design, he landed on his feet in a big way at ICG Link, Inc., where he has called home ever since. He worked in the Brentwood, Tennessee office for a little more than two years. Following his wife's career with Ford Motor Credit, the family moved to Glastonbury, Connecticut where Thomas worked out of his musty basement for the next two years. Nadine accepted a transfer to the San Antonio branch of Ford Motor Credit. Thomas set up an office in the faux third floor game room space and works from there today. (11/06)
